My name is Nas Jones and I am a student at the University of Rhode Island that is pursuing a degree in Human and Development and Family Study. I am graduating this December and looking forward to my experience within the field I am passionate about. In the future I would like to pursue a student conduct position with adolescents to young adults whether it be in a school system, community based programming or juvenile detention.
The purpose of this website is to provide VIEWS of my internship and how it functions. Over the last four years I have taken courses in the field of human development and family studies but this internship is an opportunity to work within the actual field and no longer observe. I formally observed and completed fieldwork at Child Development Center on campus which provided me a background on younger children. Currently, I intern at Ocean Tides school in Narragansett , RI. This internship provides children that have disciplinary issues with mentors to be able to change their life around. This internship website will be able to further describe my experience working with the adolescents and teenagers at Ocean Tides.
